The vast majority of Jews are pro-Israel. In my 23 years in New Hampshire, beyond fund raising, I've seen limited pro-Israel activity beyond the doors of our synagogues and the Federation.
During that same time period there has also been very limited anti-Israel activity in New Hampshire. Within the last year, a group calling itself the "Palestinian Education Network" has set up shop in New Hampshire. They are joining with Amnesty International and some church groups to present their program.
Their goal appears to be to shift public opinion from the survival of Israel to the cause of the Palestinians. Towards that goal, they are showing a film titled, "Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land." The film is well put together and it stresses mostly half-truths, some lies and omits much information that would provide context.
Israel can best be described as a nation that has been under siege for literally, its entire existence. Hatred of Israel and a commitment to wipe Israel off of the face of the earth is one of the common themes of agreement in the Arab world. Some of the methods the Arab world has used include armed warfare, terrorism and propaganda.
One may agree or not with the tactics and policies of the Government of Israel, but the propaganda and vilification being spewed in these anti-Israel discussions needs to be addressed proactively.
